Over a 48 hour period breathingspace designed and executed a programme to compliment a number of formal presentations.

Coca Cola invited breathingspace to design a one day workshop for a team of 10 senior sales and marketing managers with the objective of:

  • Presenting individuals with a series of leadership challenges in an outdoor environment

Over an 8 hour period all members of the team were presented with a "leadership challenge" which involved solving a problem and involving all members of the team. Instant feedback was given by both facilitators and members of the team.

The teams from a number of regional practices were brought together to build stronger communication links. Through a series of outdoor activities, breathing space was able to offer something for everyone whether an extremely challenging activity or something more sedentary.

- The events were ‘real’. On previous occasions organisers have health and safety audited activities into a state of farcical pointlessness. We hugely valued that your colleagues had sufficient skill and confidence to genuinely challenge us.
- The attitude of the event leaders was tremendously positive. It is very difficult for skilled sportsmen not to appear patronising to a bunch of corporate guests on a brief taster session, but your team entirely avoided that pitfall and managed to communicate that they were keen to share their enthusiasm for their sport, which was hugely motivating. Several are talking of returning under their own steam to do more.

The client invited breathingspace for business to conduct a number of focus groups in the organisation to understand the current perception of training, its role and benefits. Following this, a two day workshop was designed around the "Connected" theme involving a balance of in house technical training, consultancy training, a high performance team speaker and light hearted programme of team tasks to build trust, team spirit and improved communication.

2009 is an extremely busy year for the England Cricket Board and came quickly after a World Cup year in 2008.  The Ashes series against Australia will be the highlight but like many sports the economic climate continues to present challenges.  breathingspace were engaged to deliver a 2 day programme around the theme “can do” to a team of 120 delegates. Working with the management coaches and sailors Breathingspace ran a unique insight programme at the National Sailing Academy, Weymouth.
